Although he was seen as shocking at the time, contemporary re-evaluation of his works has thrown up surprising rich psychological and social readings of his works. Bernd Herzogenrath’s new book The Films of Tod Browning (Black Dog Publishing) brings together a comprehensive selection of essays on Brownings films, and does much to add to modern understanding of his work. 3 - EVENTS AND SCREENINGS ONLINE FourDocs
